The Master of the City runs Miami like a very tight ship, but he is not unreasonable. He is quite aware of how important Tourism is to the city and makes sure that his Kiss stays in line. When someone misbehaves, he brings down the rain, but always rules fairly. He is not a man to mess with.

There is an understanding that what is best for the city and best for the preternatural community is harmony with the tourists and with each other. Tho there is no coalition between the groups, like there is in St. Louis, there is understanding. The MoTC has made pacts with each of the Lycanthrope groups not to interfere with their inner workings, but to make sure that the peace is kept.

Having a cohesive community (well as cohesive as it can get) helps bring in revenue for the preternatural communities businesses. Scaring off the tourists would bring down the rain of the local government upon them and the last thing they need is more bad publicity. The MoTC works very hard on keeping within good standings with the government and the media. Each group is in agreement that bringing attention to themselves from RPIT or the Feds is very bad business. This in part is why he's stayed MoTC of Miami for as long as the city has existed.

In a perfect world, this would be just as joyous as it sounds. However, this is not a perfect world and there will always be politics, shady people, crime and bad blood. Within the respective groups, there will always be tension. Who has the bigger and better toys, who is stronger and better... smarter, more capable of leading, etc. As long as humans and beasts have been walking the earth, there has always been inner fighting and issues of dominance. Miami is no different.

Even between the different communities, there is tension. Nobody likes to take orders from someone outside of their group and it's typically kept quiet from the public ear, but there is always an exception. There is always a need for the RPIT team and sometimes, the Federal Marshals to visit the city. Miami is no stranger to crime.

The Lukoi, or the Werewolf clan is quite large, though it's not incredibly huge. It's the largest Lycanthrope group within the city. They run many businesses, including a very large hotel and spa, quite popular within the city. Second in line is the Rodere, or the rats. The rats are run in a semi militant way, being that the Rat King likes to recruit ex police, military and private contractors. Protection is their main way of income. The Hyenas are very small in number, being matrilineal and run by a female. Their leader likes to keep things simple. The leopards keep a lower profile as well, enjoying a small pard, a very tight knit pard, but they are not by any means useless. They are more business types, running many of the restaurants and night time entertainment.

The Mer Folk: There is only one female living in Miami that can claim she is a Mermaid.  Not much is known about her kind other than there once was Sirens and they are now all known to be extinct. 

The Pard: If you are interested in writing a Wereleopard, keep in mind that the group is fairly small. I'd say maybe 15 in number because cat based lycanthropy is more difficult to catch. They do not have a largely structured group with a lot of set rules, unlike the Rats and the Wolves. They do however, have their king and queen, the Nimir-Raj and Nimir-Ra.  

The Pack: Werewolf community is very structured, having many positions within the pack and very strict rules for certain things. There is an Ulfric, who is the leader, and many lower positions under him. It is dominance and performance based, most things being settled by fights. They have what is called a lupanar, a place where they gather for meetings and other occasions. This is in a secret location within the Everglades, where the wolves dominate the region. They have a strong tie with the Native American population and try to keep as much harmony within the group as possible. The wolves have always run their packs based mostly on Norse mythology. The goings on of the Lukoi are kept very private from anyone that does not belong. Even the name Lukoi is not used with outsiders, which is the name that the wolves call themselves. 

The Rodere: There is one Rat King, the Rom, with whom is branded with a crown tattoo. He has a second, but not much more. The Miami Rodere is run in a way different from the other groups. The King tries to be selective in who he brings in, using his people for security purposes. This is why most are bodyguards, cops, military and private contractors. The Rodere is run similar in the way of the Rodere in St. Louis. The Wererats tend to keep to the underground and are very exclusive. They do not air their business with anyone and are even reluctant to work with the MoTC. However, their King is smart and understands that it is wise to keep a good relationship since it will benefit all.

The Hyenas: The smallest group in Miami, the Hyenas are run by a female; the Oba. All Hyena groups are this way and thus have a much different dynamic than the other preternatural groups.  

The Kiss: Vampires never talk about themselves to outsiders about their group name. The Kiss is kept for private knowledge.  Within the kiss, The MoTC is a loving leader and most like him, however, you get those few who are always vying for a takeover.  There is always someone that thinks they can do better, but the MoTC hasn't kept control over the city for so long for nothing. He has himself a very iffy Temoin, however, Olivia does a good job. She is very quick to temper and can fly off the handle, but having this position has helped her grow. The MoTC makes all vampires living in Miami take blood oaths to him so he has control of everything. Either you take it, or you're out. The Kiss is quite large, numbering around 200 and many businesses exist that push money into their group. Like most, he is selective in who he allows in and is weary of outsiders. HE tends to keep vampires around him with multiple abilities as to keep a wide variety in his arsenal. A good portion of his kiss are Vampires that he  himself has made over the years, therefore, he has a large advantage over them.
